The Jans Eye Care Centre offers treatments for individual requirements. Each patient is unique and requires a specific solution to treat his/her visual complaints.

Surgical Treatment Options:

Depending on your specific vision problems, we have described some treatment options available. Refractive surgery (LASIK & PRK) alters the curvature of the cornea (the clear window of the front of the eye, which refracts light onto the retina at the back). These procedures are precise and only require the ablation of 10-20% total corneal thickness depending on the amount of correction treated. Therefore, the cornea is still considered 100% intact in strength post operatively.

• LASIK – Laser in-situ Keratomileusis is a procedure used to correct or reduce low to moderate levels of myopia and hyperopia with or without astigmatism.

• PRK – Photorefractive Keratectomy is a procedure used to correct myopia and hyperopia with or without astigmatism.

• Custom Treatments - Most of us have seen the movies where a retinal scan image is used to identify individuals. The same idea is used with Custom Guided WaveFront WaveScan technology.
